A museographic project for a discovery pathway of the Abbey of Payerne
The St. Michael Chapel is a small and intimate place. This installation will symbolize the elevation of prayer over the souls of the deceased. The copper wires stretched between the ground and the sky will represent this connection.
Three proposed installations to respect the architectural rhythm of the vaults; the visitor can enter the installation and is enveloped by it.
The difficulty of this project lies in the sublime effect of the copper wires, which are stretched by a rounded steel plate weighing over 600 kg. The light subtly slips through to reflect as if by enchantment, highlighting the person positioned at the center.
